Worldview

September 7th, 2010

What is a worldview, and why is it important?

If you talk to someone about the gospel, it helps to know where they are coming from. For example, how do they answer these questions?

Where do I come from?
What is my life’s meaning?
How do I separate good from bad?
What’s going to happen to me when I die?

In this week’s Foundations of Apologetics, Ravi Zacharias talks about worldviews, why we need to understand them, and how to talk to someone with a worldview different from our own.

If you are interested, it is at 6:30pm, in the college building. If time is tight, feel free to bring dinner and eat during the study.

Tools for a Christian Marriage

September 3rd, 2010

We have a new Sunday morning Lifegroup starting on September 12. Nick Fryberger and Matt Ward will be leading.

We believe a marriage is most successful when we nurture our individual relationships with Christ and employ his word as it directly applies to our marriages and communication. This is a study balanced between Christ’s wisdom specifically for our marriages, present or future, and more generally for our spiritual growth. Couples or individuals, married or considering marriage are welcome.

We will meet Sundays in building 8, use the north entrance on 13th ST, at 9:30am.

Moms & Tots

September 1st, 2010

Time for preschoolers, toddlers and moms to connect at Moms and Tots.

We will meet at the Tempe Marketplace splash pad at 10am on Thursday, September 2. Then we can get a yogurt at Mojos.

Tempe Marketplace is on McClintock at Rio Salado just south of the 202. Contact Andrea Heaton if you have questions or need more info.

Does God Exist?

August 31st, 2010

Does God exist? Many of us have a hard time responding to this question from others because we have always believed He existed. The Bible doesn’t contain a proof of God’s existence because it assumes that God exists.

Not everyone in our society, however, believes there is a God. This Wednesday’s lesson in the Foundations of Apologetics class will present some ways of thinking and talking about the issue that may encourage someone to seriously consider whether God really does exist. We will consider doubt, morality, beauty, reason, suffering, and the value of proofs.

This topic is also one that can be reassuring to the christian in the face of both strong challenges from atheists, and doubts from within.

If you are interested, it is at 6:30pm, in the college building. If time is tight, feel free to bring dinner and eat during the study.
