Preschool Update

In Gospel Project last week the preschoolers looked at the question What is Sin?

Sin is breaking God’s law, and sin separates people from a holy God. When Adam and Eve broke God’s rule, sin entered their lives and became a part of all of mankind.

Christ Connection – God chose not to leave Adam, Eve, and all of humanity without hope. God sent His Son, Jesus, to live as Adam didn’t—perfectly sinless. Jesus was God in the flesh sent to rescue people from their sin.

This coming Sunday the question is Why does Sin separate people from God? The story will focus on Noah and the ark.

In Preschool Beginnings this week the preschoolers explored Psalm 104:19 “The moon marks off the season, and the sun knows when to go down.” Next week they will explore dark, night and forest animals from verse 20.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the time with your preschooler. Help them be involved in your family celebrations. Take time to have conversations about the Gospel – Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration – and help them be thankful for all that God has done. Help your preschooler express thanks to God.

Idea: make a turkey using your child’s hand print. Then have child draw something on each finger that he/she is thankful for. Do this idea on a piece of cloth and it can become your family’s Blessing Turkey to pass around at dinner with each person sharing how God has blessed.

Blessings,

Andrea

Preschool Beginnings this week and COM Thanksgiving Dinner

The Preschool Beginnings Wed. night group will be singing and sharing a verse at the beginning of the program portion of the COM Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, November 18, 6pm. Child care is provided for 0-3 year olds so if your 2 or 3 year old has been coming to choir on Wed nights you may pick him/her up at the end of dinner so they may sing with the choir and then they can go back to child care if you wish.

“The trees of  the Lord are well-watered” (Psalm 104:16)   Wednesday night we will explore God’s amazing trees while we collect gifts from trees on masking tape and look at the effect of seasonal change on trees through a book of trees craft activity. “The Season’s of Arnold’s Apple Tree” will help us understand a bit more about the changes of a tree and Psalm 1 will remind us that when we are planted in God’s Word and prayer we are like a well-watered tree. Miss Jennifer will continue to practice with the preschoolers their verse and songs for the Thanksgiving celebration.O LORD my God You are very great!

Preschool Beginnings Oct 10

“The birds of the air nest by the waters, they sing among the branches.” Psalm 104:1

Don’t you find it amazing that birds can build nests.. without hands?! Isn’t it awesome that they fly south in the winter without a map or GPS system? And with their little chirps they praise God their Maker? Oct. 10th is Bird Night at Beginnings Preschool. We will try our hand at making nests, examine some real birds nests and make bird feeders for our fine feathered friends. O Lord my God, You are very great!

Sept 9 – people wrote God’s words

Sept 16 – the Bible tells what Jesus did

Sept 23 – the Bible tells about Jesus
