Thanksgiving this Sunday!Don’t miss the annual COM Thanksgiving this Sunday, November 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm. We will share a potluck meal, enjoy community, hear some of our own church family sing, and consider the gift of God’s rest. COM Thanksgiving: Rest in the LordThis year our annual COM Thanksgiving dinner will be held Sunday evening, November 20th from 6:00-8:00pm. We will share a potluck meal featuring comfort foods followed by a reflection time. Come in comfortable attire as we take time to relax and fellowship with one another. Interested in helping? There are several ways you can get involved. We will be needing to borrow Fall themed Centerpieces which will be returned immediately after the dinner. We also need fabulous food and cheerful childcare workers. Last but not least, we will be needing extra help in setting up before the dinner and cleaning up afterwards. You can sign up on the patio this Sunday or contact the church office. Update from the Lows familyAfter a long and fruitful life, Lottie Childress (Mother of Melissa Lows and Grandmother of Jan Lows) went to be with the Lord Monday night. Melissa and Jan want you to know how much they appreciate your prayers during the last few months. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm this Thursday at Green Acres Mortuary (401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ). The memorial service will be from 10:00-11:00am on Friday morning at College View Baptist Church (1810 S. Longmore, Mesa, Arizona 85202). All are welcome to celebrate Lottie’s life and support the Lows.

Help Needed for Internationals PartyDear Church on Mill Family, I’m hosting a Hollywood Movie themed Welcome Party for our international students who have recently arrived to study across the way at ASU. This is the same one for which the VBS gang took up an offering to buy bikes as prizes. For those of you who like to: 1. get dressed up like a celebrity and have your photo taken with a bunch of awesome internationals (I’m thinking about the ones who dress up at the Fall Festival — you know who you are!!!:) A sample list might include anybody from Star Wars, Smurf, Toy Story, Pirates of the Caribbean, Elvis, cowboy/alien, Star Trek, superhero/villain, Pixar, Shrek, movies/TV shows). I’d even accept people in sports costumes — and children are welcome to get dressed up, too! 2. collect Hollywood type decorations (posters, card board stand-ups of commonly known celebrities, or own a costume in your closet that you’ll likely not be using in a couple of weeks and would like to lend) 3. think decorating for a Hollywood themed party is the coolest thing EVER 4. think that calling up movie theaters and ask for freebies is a way of helping our economy AND environment 5. like to make finger foods or delicious punch Would you please contact Jan Lows (email The party is Saturday, August 27, at the Christian Challenge building, 7pm-10pm.
