Before passing away after decades of faithful ministry John Stott wrote, “The church lies at the very center of the eternal purpose of God . . . the church is God’s new community. For his purpose, conceived in a past eternity, being worked out in history, and to be perfected in a future eternity, is not just to save isolated individuals and so perpetuate our loneliness, but rather to build his church, that is, to call out of the world a people for his own glory.” What a vision God has for his people!
Church on Mill expresses this biblical vision of shared life by declaring that we exist to glorify God through lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Church, then, is not a building we go to! On the contrary, church is God’s people, under God’s Word, making disciples, for the glory of God. In this important sermon series we will explore how we can more richly enjoy the privilege of living shared lives to the glory of God and the good of all people.
