Tomorrow will be an awesome day!

Tomorrow we will begin College Lunch at 12:10 come and join us for a great meal and invite a friend as we have our first lunch of the semester.
I want to encourage everyone to attend one of the Connection Classes that are beginning tomorrow at 9:30. Here are the ones that are available.

Knowing God: We all know our good friends well, right? We can describe their character traits and know how we should relate to them. But, what about God? Who is He? What are some key attributes that make God who He is? And, how do we live in response to Him? We will explore how God is great, glorious, good and gracious! [East wing that's where we eat lunch]

Counterfeit Gods: Our first ever Connection Class uniquely for women! The Bible teaches that the human heart takes good things like a successful career, love, material possessions, even family, and turns them into ultimate things. Our hearts deify them as the center of our lives, believing they can give us significance, security, or fulfillment. We will discuss counterfeit gods of our culture today, how to identify your own idols, and how to replace them with the only One who gives true fulfillment – the living God. [West wing]

Membership Class: Church Membership is one of the most important commitments we make in life. Come explore who Church on Mill is, what we are about, and how you can get more involved. We also encourage current members who have not been through the membership class to attend. [Church office]

I want to encourage you to attend one of these classes, College Life Group will not meet the next five weeks so all can have the opportunity to be a part of one of the Connection Classes.

I hope to see you in the morning, have a blessed weekend,

Bill

This Sunday will be a great day!

This coming Sunday we will start the day with our College Life Group at 9:30 where I will guide us through a study of ACTS 1. This is a rich chapter full of great insights about what Jesus did between the resurrection and ascension. Also this passage discusses those who predict Jesus return and why they are false prophets. We will also look at a passage that some consider to be one that shows a contradiction in the Bible. Then of course the Great Commission from verse 8. Einstein Brothers bagels will be served as well. Join us in the college house.
This Sundays College Lunch we will grill out and play volleyball. So bring clothes to play volleyball and join us for a game or two. We will eat lunch in the college house.
Also don’t forget to sign up for the State Fair on October 19th, our college group will be going that night and it will be a great time.

Changes in the start time for Connect this week

This week we are having a special Connect with a different start time, followed by a fun activity. Here is the information about this important night: Did you know the Mormon church is the second largest denomination in the Phoenix-metro area? – or that Phoenix has the nation’s third largest Mormon population? This means that all of us have Mormon family, friends, or neighbors! Consequently, it is very important that you have a right understanding and biblical perspective of the Mormon worldview.
This Wednesday we are hosting a special guest for this important topic. Andy Poland, a former Mormon who is now General Manager of Concerned Christians in Mesa, will be joining us. He will share his own story of leaving Mormonism and accepting biblical Christianity and he will also help us to understand and engage Mormon friends, family, and neighbors. There will be time for questions after Andy shares. See you this Wednesday at 6:30pm for a great night as we learn about this important, close-to-home topic! After this informative time we will play hide-n- seek. Yes the game you played as a kid! Many of you have asked to do this so we will play a few rounds and then enjoy some munchies together.
